Thin-Film Coatings

We leverage our worldwide precision optics coating centers to produce high-quality thin films that enable a broad range of high-performance and high-volume applications. Our precision coating centers worldwide combine state-of-the-art deposition capabilities to achieve the most wide-ranging and demanding coating designs.

Our thin-film deposition capabilities include:

  • Ion beam sputtering (IBS)

  • Advanced plasma source assisted deposition (APS)
  • Electron beam deposition (E-beam)

II-VI thin-film coatings enable our optics to achieve the desired spectral characteristics across the electromagnetic spectrum from the ultraviolet to the far-infrared. II-VI designs and produces low-absorption coatings for low to very high-energy lasers, on a broad range of crystals and metals, and on standard flat or curved surfaces as well as other surfaces precision-shaped by diamond turning. The result is some of the most advanced optics available in the industry that can be scaled to high-volume manufacturing, ranging from micro-optics to large-sized optics and complex freeform optics. Industrial Laser Optics
:

  • High-reflector dielectric coatings for 1 μm
  • Pulsed dual enhanced silver (PDES) coating for 1.06 μm and 0.6328 μm
  • Zero phase shift total reflector (NTR) coating for NIR, 1.03 μm, 1.064 μm, 1.07 μm
  • 90° reflective phase retarder (NRPR) coating for NIR, 1.03 μm, 1.064 μm, 1.07 μm
  • Broad anti-reflective (BAR) coating on zinc selenide (ZnSe) for 5.3-6.0 µm
