Fluorescence imaging describes a broad range of applications in life sciences, where organic samples to be analyzed are fluorescently tagged, with either a single dye or multiple fluorophores spanning the visible and ultraviolet spectra. The fluorescently labeled samples are then visualized with analytical instruments that rely on high performance optical components and subassemblies. Such systems integrate light sources, optical filters, steering optics, specialized lenses, and detectors to create a sensitive light path that will allow visualization of samples and further down-stream functional studies.
