II-VI Incorporated held its annual shareholders meeting on Friday, November 3, 2006, at its worldwide headquarters in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania. A crowd of over 200 shareholders, employees and invited guests was on hand to vote on two items, as well as to query the company’s management about II-VI.
Issues considered at this year’s meeting were the election of a new director, Wendy F. DiCicco, Chief Financial Officer of Kensey Nash Corporation, and the re-election of Duncan A. J. Morrison, Retired Chairman of ARRI Canada Ltd. and Marc Y. E. Pelaez, Rear Admiral, United States Navy (retired). All three were elected to the Company’s Board of Directors.
In addition to the election of directors, the shareholders ratified Deloitte and Touche LLP as the Company’s independent registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007.
The shareholders meeting included a presentation from Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of II-VI Incorporated, Dr. Carl J. Johnson. The presentation outlined the last ten years of the Company, and the seven reinventions that have marked the Company’s success globally during that time period.
Dr. Johnson said, “Our 2006 shareholder meeting was a great time to reflect upon our first 35 years in business, and to examine in further detail the significant milestones over the last 10 years that have helped grow the Company. We thank our shareholders, employees and special guests who made the annual meeting a tremendous success.”
The Company’s six businesses, ranging from optics to materials, were on display with employees eager to answer questions about the Company’s products from the shareholders.
