On January 19, 2006, Pennsylvania State Senator Jane Orie was welcomed to the II-VI headquarters and manufacturing facility in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania. The Senator had requested the visit in order to learn more about what II-VI does.

James Martinelli, Vice President of Government and Military Business of II-VI, commented, "We appreciate Senator Orie taking the time to visit our facility. The State of Pennsylvania has supported II-VI and our recent facility expansion. The Senator was very interested in the II-VI products, employees, and the high quality jobs we bring to this area."

Senator Orie represents the 40th Senatorial District, which includes Buffalo and Clinton Townships in Butler County, where the Saxonburg facility is located.
